Hello.

I’m Annabel Kyle, the face behind Unfold.

I’m a straightforward Northern girl, raised in Manchester and now living in the beautiful Pennine hills of West Yorkshire. I’ve practised yoga for many years on and off and always felt its benefits. However, it was only when my usually infrequent, but manageable, migraines transformed into something else entirely that I fully embraced yoga and found it transformative in managing my symptoms and improving my quality of life.

Over time, my love for yoga has exploded and, with it, my commitment to it. I’m a firm believer in yoga as a force for good in this world. It’s so much more than just making shapes on your mat and affects how you show up in the world, not just for yourself but for others whose path you cross.

My main passion is ‘sustainable yoga’, focusing on strength and mobility to support the nervous system, not just flexibility, and working into all those nooks and crannies in and around the joints to keep our joints and muscles healthy long into our old age. Who doesn’t want to be able to easily reach that cup from the top shelf when we’re older?

I’m also passionate about using sustainable yoga to support people through the stages of menopause. Yoga is a brilliant tool to support body and mind in peri menopause and beyond. I run regular menopause yoga workshops, both in-person and online - sign up to my email list to be first to hear about upcoming events.

One of the things you’ll always find in my classes is the opportunity to connect to the breath. Our breath is our anchor and a powerful tool for getting out of our head and into our body, so important for our mental health and general wellbeing.

Since completing my first 250 hour teacher training, I’ve gone on to complete further training with Yoga Detour, anatomy training with Drew Hume of Navina, Menopause Yoga training with Yinstinct Yoga, and have recently completed a 300 hour teacher training with the wonderful Heart + Bones Yoga.

Why ‘Unfold’?

We spend so much time folded over, holding everything in, scrunched up, and making ourselves fit in or feel small. We’re often hunched over our phones. sat at our desks and computers, holding our stomachs in or holding on to tension in some other way. My aim is to help you let go of all that and open up, to unfold, both physically and mentally.
